This NBC news video does a great job of highlighting the problem of beachfront lighting causing turtle hatchlings to become disoriented when they emerge from their nest and lost in various hazards instead of crawling to the sea. It talks about the various risks they face, the "probably less than one in a thousand make it to adulthood" chance of survival (David Godfrey, Executive Director, Sea Turtle Conservancy). It talks about making beachfront lighting safe.
